Since you’re here, I may as well drop some knowledge on who I am and what I’m about.
tl;dr I published some books, made some websites, put words on shirts, sometimes make videos, do a bit of programmatic SEO, and other shit
After spending 5 years in the Marine Corps as a computer geek, I did a quick search for how to make money online. See, I was released from active duty in April but didn’t start school until August and wasn’t too keen on finding a summer job. Spoiler alert: I got a summer job.
There was a Reddit thread about self-publishing I found and ate it up. I spent around 10 hours that night writing a short erotic story and had it on Amazon after a long nap. To date, that one book has made me a whopping $7 and some change.
Worth it.
So I continued writing or outsourcing written works for a while, creating short stories, joke books, and non-fiction works. Some sold well, some sold great, and some never sold at all.
From there, I noticed some of the nonfiction books consistently sold every month, so I wanted to expand and create a website around that book. I started it in February and sold it on November 1st. In retrospect, I should have kept it around, but that’s how it goes.
Repeat a few more times with other books, some failed, and others failed harder. But every time I learned more, I took things a bit further, and tried new tactics and strategies.
Somewhere around then, I got into print on demand to up my graphic design skills.
Spoiler alert: graphic design skills are still trash.
There are sites where you can upload original graphics, and they’ll handle the printing and shipping for you and toss commissions your way. Kickass.
So I did that.
But I didn’t want to create simple designs forever, so I went back to making websites.
